April 2008
Concert season is here again! We're kicking off this year's activities with a 'Proms' style concert at the Holy Trinity Church in Heath Town on 26th of this month. Other dates have also been added so please have a browse on the Concerts page.
All change with the baton again and we send a very warm band welcome to St John DeVere who has been taking some hugely enjoyable rehearsals since the turn of the year. Who would have thought that twelve months ago we would be making instruments out of wood and sandpaper and shouting "Ole!" in pieces? Long may it continue!
We're still always on the look out for new players so if you can play a brass instrument or drums/percussion please feel free to come along on a Thursday night. See you there....
December 2007
Well Christmas is nearly here and we have a few concerts coming up. First off is our yearly outing to the Penn Special school on December 13th at 7pm followed by a three night stint at the Black country museum starting on 20th December. We will be playing a selection of carols and Christmas pieces in the chapel so feel free to come along for a singsong!
November 2007
Our numbers are swelling!! A very warm welcome to all the new players who have been attending our Thursday night practices over the last few weeks... it has brought the average age of the band down to below 70 for the first time in many a year! Also welcome to John Williams who has taken over the baton from Lionel Howden. Many thanks to Lionel for once again stepping in and for all his efforts in keeping the band going over the last few months. It is, as always, very much appreciated.
Thanks also to those who attended and organised our recent concerts at All Saints Church and St Mary's church. We hope you enjoyed the nights as much as we did.
